Duke Smart Home Tour + Drinks Social - Sat 11/18, 2:00-4:30 pm
he YMG is hosting a free group tour of the Duke Smart Home in Durham!
Come learn about the design and construction of the first LEED Platinum building on Duke's campus and the first live-in laboratory in the world to receive the highest certification from the USGBC. Completed in 2007 for $1.2 million, the smart dorm serves as a test bed for student-faculty research and industry collaboration on sustainability, energy efficiency and student life hacks. Hear from students that live in the house full-time about their research exploring smart ways to use technology in the home.
We will be ordering pizza after the tour wraps up at 3:00 pm.
