Region 4 Governor

Let me introduce myself, I am Bob Cagle and I have just begun a two year term as a Region 4 Governor.  I am a lifelong resident of North Carolina, graduated from NC State, earned an MBA from UNC-W and had a great career with the US Army Corps of Engineers.  I have been a member of ASCE since I was a Student Member at NC State, I transitioned directly to Associate Member, became a full Member and then was fortunate to be elected a Fellow of the Society.  I have been a member of the Coastal Branch and the Eastern Branch, served as an officer in the branch and the Section, served the District 6 and served on several national committees.  My association with ASCE has been very full-filling and I am honored to be given the opportunity to represent North Carolina as a Governor of Region 4.  In that role, I will be serving as a connection from the Section and Branches to the National Board of Direction with Region 4 Director, David Peterson. Region 4 is made up of eight sections, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Arkansas, Kentucky and Indiana.  I look forward to attending Branch meetings, Younger Member meetings, visiting Student Chapters and serving the membership of the North Carolina Section and ASCE to the best of my ability.

A Message from Bob Cagle, Spring 2013

Are you connected with the ASCE Key Contacts Program? From the new members of the North Carolina Congressional delegation, the new State administration and with a full one-third of the state legislature new members, we have a great opportunity to influence issues that are important, not only to civil engineers but to the State and Nation as a whole.  The ASCE Key Contacts Program keeps us informed on these issues so that we can share our experiences and knowledge to better prepare our leaders to make the best decisions. I encourage each and every North Carolina Section member to go to the ASCE website, www.asce.org, and sign up for Key Contacts. We all must know who our Legislative and Congressional leaders are and take time to communicate with them. I will be traveling around the Section this year to all the Branches and look forward to talking ASCE issues with each of you.  Bob Cagle
