Summary: Sue Kranes from the NC Military Business Center and Joe Angell of Wiley Wilson will provide a federal program briefing and discuss the challenges to successfully execute federal contracts due to recent Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) revisions and new acquisition tools available to federal contracting officers.

Bio: Joe is a professional engineer with over 42 years of hands-on leadership experience infrastructure and facilities management from budgeting and resourcing. Joe served more than 20 years as a Navy Civil Engineer Corps Officer, retiring as a Commander. During his service, Joe served as a warranted contracting officer executing more than $2 Billion in federal facilities and infrastructure contracts. Since retiring from the Navy, Joe has worked tirelessly to improve the delivery of designs and construction to the federal government through several firms and professional associations.

Sue Kranes served in the federal government for more than 30 years as a warranted contracting officer. Sue joined the North Carolina Military Business Center in 2008 to support NC Businesses as a Federal Military Construction Specialist. In that capacity, she helped existing businesses identify, bid, and compete for architectural, engineering and construction contracts.
