Summary: The 14th Annual Paul Zia Distinguished Lecture “Structural Failures, the I-35W Bridge Collapse and Replacement” will be presented on Monday, September 21, 2015, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the McKimmon Center on the North Carolina State University campus. This annual lecture honors Professor Emeritus Dr. Paul Zia, former professor and department head for NC State's Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering, and a structural engineer who is eminent in research, professional society leadership and practice.

- Mr. Jonathan McGormley, principal of Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, “Forensic Investigation of the I-35W Bridge Collapse”
- Ms. Linda A. Figg, president and CEO of FIGG, “Design and Construction of the New I-35W Bridge”
Registration: Admission is free, but registration is required. Visit go.ncsu.edu/lecture-registration. Donations will be gladly accepted to support the Paul Zia Education Fund for civil, construction, and environmental engineering students at NC State.
PDH Credits and Learning Units (LUs): There are three PDH credits available for engineers and three LUs for architects.
