March 28, 2019 Meeting

This will be a lunch meeting at Atherton Mill (Big Ben Pub) on Thursday, March 28, 2019 with registration/socialization beginning at 11:30 am. Presentation will start at 11.45 am with on-site demo for ASTM C 1781 test at Atherton Mill. Atherton Mill is a stop on the light rail. After the field trip, power point presentation will take place at Big Ben British Pub where lunch will be served between noon to 12.45 pm.

 

The details for the meeting are as follows:

 

Topic: Keystone Hardscapes: Permeable Pavers

The presentation will address how an engineer or landscape architect can cost effectively utilize our products to satisfy the public site solution needs. Presentation will discuss: ASCE Design Standard, Installation, Design Process & Requirements, Design Software Tutorial, North Carolina DNR Regulations, and Case Histories/Site Infiltration Demo (at Big Ben Pub).

 

Presenter:  

David Pitre, Director of Engineering at Keystone Hardscapes

 

David is currently Director of Engineering Products for Pavestone/Keystone Hardscapes with 20 plus years in Concrete industry. He has a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Louisiana State University. He is the past Chairman of Board for Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute (ICPI) and Chair Elect ICPI Foundation. He is also the Market Segment Chair for National Concrete Masonry Association for SRW and Hardscapes. He also has numerous publications with Landscape Online and others and he serves as a member on ASCE committees on permeable pavement standards.

Cost: This month’s lunch is graciously being covered by Keystone Hardscapes and there is no fee. However, we would like to encourage donations at this time to the UNC Charlotte Concrete Canoe Team. They came in first place at regional's last year and went to onto national competition. They will be competing in this year’s regional Carolina Conference at NC State in April 5th and 6th.
